When I’m excited I eat chocolate. Actually I eat chocolate for plenty of excuses, I mean reasons.
Today I started moving Verdae out of my house and into a commercial space. My skin care and candle business has been quite comfortable taking up much of the discretionary space in my home; under the kitchen counters, on the dining room table, in the closets, all over the living room, even in the attic.
In January of this year I ceased production; not because I don’t like doing what I’ve done for the last 10 years, but because I was no longer willing to live in a factory/warehouse. I negotiated with a number of folks who expressed interest in buying the business – lots of tire kickers, no takers. The learning curve is significant.
Just when I thought it was safe to start selling off equipment, supplies and final inventory things changed. I think its been about 5 weeks since this transition started and in that time my two partners and I have secured a location, found very nice retail furniture at the Habitat Re-Store, and are outfitting our space with the needed equipment for production on a larger scale. We plan to have a work area and retail store where folks can shop for their favorite Verdae products and observe production if you happen in at the right time!
So many things have seamlessly fallen into place in such a short time. I’m grateful for the goodness of it all.
I ate celebratory chocolate on my way home from the new Verdae space, and when you visit, you can have some too!!!

So happy for you Suzanne!
I wish I could help you install Verdae in that amazing space you found!
Love you
This is great news! Can’t wait to visit the new store!
Did you say chocolate? I can come down next week and help you set up or anything you need! Just let me know.
haha, yes chocolate. I’ve often quoted your comment to me years ago that I knew all the best places in Cincinnati to find dessert!!!
