Yikes! It’s been a long time since my last entry. Lot’s has happened in the past month or so. Most remarkably I lost my all-time favorite car in an accident – minor injuries only.
I got an email from a customer who has a sensitivity to coconut oil. This has been coming up more often lately. Maybe it’s because coconut oil has been enjoying tremendous popularity lately both in skin care and in food! There are many health benefits associated with eating coconut oil, but that’s not my area of expertise…your skin is my main concern!
We use fractionated coconut oil in one of our most popular products – Verdae Moisturizing Quick Spray. Of course I had to know what fractionated meant so here’s my attempt. We use coconut oil in our soaps which is very thick and hard at cool temperatures, sort of like a grainy Crisco, and rather gloppy at warm temperatures like split pea soup…So how is it that coconut oil can be sprayed out of an aerosol bottle? One of the long chain fatty acids is removed from the coconut oil causing it to be in a permanent liquid state! Isn’t that cool???
Anyway, this Quick Spray is really great stuff. We fragrance it with one of several great natural essences such as wild harvested lavender, Verdae essential citrus (our 9 essential oil blend) Verdae Rain – clean and crisp, and Rosemary Mint – one of my all time favorites. The best thing about it is that the oil absorbs into your skin very quickly, leaves no greasy residue or feeling and is easier to use than any other moisturizer, no kidding.
Take it to the gym, to your shower at home, to a friend. I’ve even used it IN the shower and bath (If you do this you MUST make sure to wipe out your tub/shower so the next person – maybe even you – doesn’t slip and fall) One more thing about this great product – it doesn’t stain clothes or bedding.
Actually I’ve begun using the wild-harvested lavender Quick Spray as a summer deodorant – it smells great, I smell great and it works too! We don’t have this product on the website YET, but you can always contact us and we’ll be sure to get some going your way!
