Wow, several weeks ago I received an email from someone asking if I would be interested in collaborating on a project involving felted soap. I’m embarrassed to say that I had never heard of such a thing! You’ve never seen anything so interesting and beautiful as these soaps.
Felted soap is a two for one deal. You get a great bar of natural soap with an all natural, organic washcloth to go with it. The felt is “wrapped” around the soap and as the user washes and the soap gets smaller, you are left with a very soft and washable cloth. During the process of producing the felted soap, the fibers are wonderfully scented with the essential oils used in our soap making process. What a nose treat.
These particular soaps are felted with alpaca fleece. We went out to the local farm to see these beautiful animals who were rescued from a farm in Atlanta.
These would be great soaps to give to anyone with very delicate skin, as the alpaca fleece is extraordinarily soft and hypoallergenic. Lindsey, who felts the soap does a beautiful job of making them beautiful with artistic touches and various hand=dyed fibers.
We are felting all of our scented soaps, our fragrance free Verdae baby soaps will be for sale at Full Bloom and our Terrapin beer soaps will be sold at the Athens farmers market and a few stores around town.
