Spent the day driving to and fro. First stop was at the Asian supply house for rice bran oil. As I waited for my order I admit to being amused that the people who were working in the office were all speaking japanese with a mix or two of English thrown in. They were very nice and helpful and I’ll definatley go back.
I did demos at Whole Foods again today. I meet the most amazing people while I’m there runnin’ my mouth (which incidentally is not something I’m know for…) I spoke with a man from Poland who makes his own laundry soap and loves to cook. He asked me all about how to make soap and asked if I thought he could do it too, to which I replied that yes of course he could – it’s just a different form of cooking! He didn’t buy soap today, but he may be back – the wheels were definately turning.
I met Dr. Juanita Bynum tonight. Unbeknownst to me, she is a celebrity, minister, actress, New York times best selling author. I love not having TV – you get to meet even famous people where they are. We chatted on for a while about skin care and specific issues for a good while before she divulged herself. Finally she admitted to me that it was quite nice for her that I was not aware of her notariety and asked if she might come and make soap with me sometime. I’d love nothing better – because she was meaningful, engaged in our conversation, interesting and fun.
