So, this morning, before venturing into Whole Foods with our beer products, I decided to take a walk to start off my day with something that felt normal…..
Our neighbor cat, a cute little tabby with a white bib and white legs and feet dashed across the street in front of me to her own driveway. I tried to befriend her to no avail. When I passed her she began to follow me. When I stopped to turn around and look at her she stopped. When I continued she did too. This went on five or six times – many more than you’d expect from any self-respecting cat. Kind of reminded me of when my kids were small and we played similar games. It was fun to have such an encounter with this little creature.
I’m actually at Whole Foods right now writing, as I’m waiting for an email from the tech guy. One of my UPC numbers doesn’t scan – which means we can’t sell that item today if it is not operational. Unfortunately, it is our sample size seasonal bar which is very popular because it’s small, cheap, and a limited edition. Hoping I’ll hear soon. If not, we’ll survive.
Yesterday Steve and I were at Lowe’s (after making beer soap in the morning) which means we smelled like beer at 9 a.m. The “frgrance” from mixing the beer with the lye stays on your clothes, hair and skin for several hours after the process is completed. An elderly gentleman walked by smelling of soap and a pleasant aftershave. I couldn’t help wondering if he noticed our aroma.
We were checking out of the store, again aware of the scent of beer. As I rifled through my wallet to find my Verdae credit card, I accidentally knocked a long piece of wood over, hitting Steve (my husband) in the head. The cashier looked amused (since Steve was no worse for the wear). I commented to her “how come that never happens when you want it to?” at which point she lost it. I guess we were just too much for her……….
Whole Foods was a success in that we stayed there a long time. We didn’t sell much from our own stockpile, but now have a spot on the shelf with our display and our products!
Really long day – pizza and a movie sounds good!
